An increasing number of people choose to have cosmetic surgery in order to improve their appearance. Why do people want to change the way they look? And Is it a positive or negative development?
Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatments. It is believed that across the globe, people are opting plastic surgery to enhance their physical appearance. Apparently, various factor breeds its popularity. However, it is a promising development.
Fundamentally, the predominant factors that evidently triggered it can be observed. Firstly, cosmetic intervention not only is a key factor influencing how the looks of humans, but also it boosts the confidence amongst patrons at an unprecedented scale. Hence, to participate in numerous social events or stage performances as a model people choose to have features which suits their face and go for distinct kinds of facial surgeries. To vindicate, according to BBC research, it has been revealed that 42.8% of glamorous personalities whom people consider to be beautiful had undergone aesthetic surgeries. Secondly, even though citizens are aware of staggering cost of these surgeries, to mimic their role models and getting looks alike them, people go for such changes. Thirdly, there is a concept of ideal figure for women made by themselves only persuade them to do so despite being the fact that it is a false realisation.
Nevertheless, I find this trend constructive for myriad reasons. Chiefly, if these kind of surgeries would not have been there, both the social stigma for humans who are suffering from congenital abnormalities such as cleft lip, cleft palate, drooping eyes would be more and they have to live in such devastating states for whole life. Moreover, it improves the quality of life unless used in an extravagant manner. Further, it reduces the sign of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines. To corroborate, as per Forbes magazine, 57% of men and women using face lifting techniques such as Botox or collagen therapies to mitigate sign of aging lying between age group of 40-60 years.
Suffice to say, although cosmetic surgeries are not reach of everyone’s sphere yet it is a boon for the people who can afford it.
