Some people say that it is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes. Do you agree or disagree? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Some people say that it is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes.

Do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable fact that Culture is an identity; Character is a quality. Culture and Character are two terms that are normally used in the description of a human being. It is often argued that an individual’s way of dressing reveal significant detail of their tradition and habits. However, I partially agree with the given notion

Apparently, dressing hold wide range of constructive benefits in judging a person’s cultural and behavioural characteristics. Firstly, not only people living in a small village in India like to adorn Indian ethnic wear such as kurta pyjama and an individual living in a metro city like New Delhi, wears a pair of jeans and a shirt on a daily basis ,but also Muslim woman as a part of her religion she choose to wear hijab ,in order to cover her hair, which is considered an essential way to be a real muslim woman ,and  this tradition followed in all Islamic countries. Such distinction in dressing styles makes it feasible to understand the culture of an individual. For example, according to BBC research it is revealed that Sikh wears turban which depicts respect for their cultural, regional values. Secondly, it is possible to retain nature of an individual from his/her attire. A person always wearing religious or traditional costumes may reveal their devotional and spiritual nature. A usually decent and formally clad individual portrays simplicity and modesty. Multi-colored and flashy outfits can indicate a person’s exuberant and lively nature. For example, entertainers and celebrities are often seen wearing jazzy dresses. Also, an odd-colored, loosely-fitted and shabby clothing may be an indicator of a careless attitude.

Nevertheless, appearance and looks can be deceptive for myriad reasons. Chiefly, it is important to acknowledge that the phenomenon of globalization has affected many people around the world in their clothing selection. This is because there are now international clothing brands that are shipped all over the world. For instance, In India, the sporting clothes brand Nike sells the same products that are in stores in the United States. As a result, despite the significantly different cultural backgrounds, most people in both countries almost wear the same apparel and shoes. Furthermore, clothes give little views and details about people. who work in the banking sector are required to wear a formal dress code irrespective of their social backgrounds. colours of clothes can be sometimes confusing to many people to determine someone’s feelings. To illustrate this, if someone prefers to wear black-coloured clothes, many people would think that they are sad. Hence, it is not possible to know about people’s personality and culture from their choice of clothes.

To recapitulate, although the selection of models and colours in the dress can be used as a reference in determining the character and culture of a person yet it is not always true.

Many claim that the fast food industry has a negative effect on the environment, eating habits, and families. To what extent do you agree or disagree? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Many claim that the fast food industry has a negative effect on the environment, eating habits, and families.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable fact that the world has witnessed paradigm shift in the level of lifestyle. It is often argued that ubiquity of fast food industry entails dismal consequences on nature, people’s eating habits and families bonds. However, I firmly agree with the given notion.

Apparently, fast food industry holds wide range of destructive ramifications. Firstly, not only over dependent on fast food has drifted families apart. Since preparing meals together used to be the most prominent bonding activities for family members, ordering takeaways from dining establishments frequently has considerably minimized the excitement ,but also wreak havoc on environment as it generates an enormous amount of waste which is discarded to rivers and some specific locations which possess a great threat to the sustainable environment.

Secondly, millennial who are habitual of fast food suffer from many deadly diseases such as heart attacks, sudden high blood pressure and cancer. Therefore, the rapid evolution of the fast-food industry has substantial harrowing upshot on public health. For instance, according to Forbes magazine it is revealed that consumption of two or three servings of french fries during the weekend increases seven times the risk of stroke and other heart diseases.

To recapitulate, although in a fast-paced world fast food is a great idea to save time yet it’s inherited downsides are unsurpassable. Society must ensure steps are taken to prevent environment from deteriorating further.

Many people believe that Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by the governments rather than private companies. To what extent do you agree or disagree? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Many people believe that Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by the governments rather than private companies.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable fact that government works for the welfare of people. It is often argued that scientific research should be supervised by successive governments instead of private entities. However, I firmly agree with the given notion.

Apparently, government role to control scientific studies holds wide range of constructive benefits. Firstly, not only many scientific research projects are funded by the supreme bodies grant which is derived from public money such as taxes. Hence, the authorities ought to make sure that this study is not wasting money and can bring about the beneficial effects for the upliftment of society at an unprecedented scale ,but also many scientific studies involve human as objects. So, government should employ a strict regulation to protect and to ensure that there is no violation of human rights as well as no negative consequences resulting from fundamental process.

Secondly, plethora of research activities are carried out by private companies such as pharmaceutical companies to produce a new remedy for a certain illness. This leads to exclusive claim for the medication by a sole company merely for the sake of economic commodity without offering an advantage to the public health. Therefore, in such case, the legal bodies should implement policies such as granting a limited time for the company to produce and sell the medication as well as adjusting the medication price in the market. Thus, making affordable for people.

To conclude, I strongly agree, the research that is done by private companies must be reviewed, and monitored by the governments in order to avoid any misappropriation. It must be controlled, as some of companies might be doing research for their monetary gain or for destructive weapons such as developing biochemical weapons, and it could threaten the world peace. It is the governments’ job to prevent and block these kinds of research.

The governments should give each citizen a basic income so that they have enough money to live on, even if they are employed. To what extent do you agree or disagree? IELLTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2 latest question

The governments should give each citizen a basic income so that they have enough money to live on, even if they are employed.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Since time immemorial, food, clothing and shelter are three basic necessities for survival. It is often argued that successive governments should give adequate  funds to each individual to sustain their living irrespective of their employment status. However, I partially agree with the given notion.

Apparently, giving basic income to unemployed holds wide range of constructive benefits. Firstly, not only populace will be able to lead a better life since  they can get better treatments and they can be able to lead a stress-free life ,but also it will lessen the unemployed rate as from this income people can take the risk of setting up a new small business. For example, according to BBC research it is revealed that this fundamental approach can improve people’s economic conditions. Secondly, they do not have to depend on others. people who settle in a region can conduct all activities that they want such as travelling ,studying abroad and learning foreign languages. ultimately, will raise their standard of living.

Nevertheless, authorities should not give money to employed and well settled people for myriad reasons. Chiefly, if supreme bodies channelise funds on wealthy people, it will increase the discrimination amongst people as rich will become more richer and poor will become more poorer. Furthermore, it might happen people will not value hard-work, they will become more lazy depending solely on government’s monthly basic income which can prove to be an obstacle for nation’s economic prosperity.

To recapitulate, although giving some amount to unemployed or weaker section of society has its constructive ripples yet it’s negative side can not be ignored.

One of the best ways to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles. To what extent do you agree or disagree? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

One of the best ways to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable fact that contaminated environment is a burning issue. It has increased at an unprecedented scale. It is often argued that soaring the fuel price is most prominent in safeguarding nature. However, I partially agree to the given notion.

Apparently, raising the price of oil and gas used by automobiles holds wide range of constructive benefits. Firstly, it will not only result in a corresponding decline in traffic on the roads as high gasoline price makes costlier to maintain cars, but also people would choose the public transportation system such as trains, ferries and metropolitan buses than personal vehicles. For example, according to BBC research countries where successive governments significantly increased cost of fuel, people rather than buying expensive fuel, seek for sustainable means of transporting themselves such as electric cars and bicycles that produce little undesirable effects on the environment. Secondly, it will curtail noise and air pollution since it will mitigate exhaust and noise because of the reduced volume of cars.

Nevertheless, there are multiple other ways to curb environmental destruction. Chiefly, stop using plastic bags It can take up to 1000 years for a single plastic bag to decompose, and they are one of the main killers of marine wildlife. So it’s important to reduce your plastic bag usage in every way that you can.   For instance, according to Forbes magazine it is revealed that  Instead of using plastic water bottles, investing in a glass bottle such as The Bare Bottles is a good idea as they are made from eco-friendly stainless steel, which do not hurt the environment and can be reused for years. Furthermore, Growing your own produce helps the environment by reducing the emissions and fossil fuel pollution used to transport foods to the supermarket, and if you grow your plants organically, without pesticides and herbicides, then you’re ensuring that the earth will return to it’s natural state without damaging the soil and making it harder for plants to grow in future.

To conclude, even though a lot of steps taken in controlling the pollution, its influence is not considerably seen. Nonetheless, the joint efforts by government and individual can overcome this menace

Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Ielts | ielts writing task-2

Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is undeniable fact that setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It is often argued that millennial fulfilling their goals is felicitated by good luck. However, I partially agree with the given notion.

Apparently, people cater their dreams because of hard-work for myriad reasons. Firstly, not only one’s dedication ,but also will power substantially contribute in achieving one’s desires. For example, One of the most well-known and respected industrialists in India, Ratan Naval Tata had a disturbed childhood after his parents split. He is a risk-taker. When he joined the firm, it didn’t have much presence outside of India. Despite the fact that many individuals disagreed with him, he insisted on the company’s global strategy. Tata’s big revenue currently comes from outside the country. Thereby, He created his own destiny. Secondly, unlike blindly relying on destiny, one who work in the direction of their goals from formative years get success at an unprecedented scale. Hence, factors such as will power, dedication and determination are fundamental in making a person successful.

Nevertheless, one’s achievements are decided mostly by chance and have plethora of reasons to substantiate it. Chiefly, life is like a gamble, and so whether we win or not is a matter of luck. If a person wins a lottery or met with an accident, it is placed under luck. Furthermore, do humans depend on luck ? Certainly yes, even if we are doing much
hard-work, at the right stage or situation we may encounter challenges with environment, natural calamities, or physical injuries like accidents or ill health. Im such circumstances, stars should be
alingned perfectly for doing any task.

To recapitulate, although winning a lottery is sheer luck yet goddess of fortunes would not smile upon us unless we had proved our effort and determination. Needless to state, we could say luck is like fruit, if we do not climb up the tree we never get one. So, success is amalgamation of labor, hard work and good luck.

Fresh water has always been a limited resource in some parts of the world. Today, however, growing worldwide demand has made this a global problem. What are the causes of the increased demand and what measure could governments and individuals take to respond to this problem? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Fresh water has always been a limited resource in some parts of the world. Today, however, growing worldwide demand has made this a global problem. What are the causes of the increased demand and what measure could governments and individuals take to respond to this problem?

Scarcity of fresh water has become a burning issue. It is believed that, with the advent of modernisation, there is dearth of fresh water across the globe making it a universal phenomenon. Apparently, various factor breeds its popularity. However, it can be mitigated provided a slew of remedial measures are taken up.

Fundamentally, the predominant factors that evidently trigger it can be observed. Firstly, not only exponential rise in population in metropolitan cities , but also industrialization has compounded this demand as fresh water from rivers and lakes has been prolifically used for manufacturing processes such as chemical reactions, cleaning toxic equipments and so on.  For example, according to BBC research it is revealed that 70% of rivers and lakes are polluted from waste and plastic bottles which harms the aquatic life. Secondly, unlike the bygone days, in the modern era, the growing use of salt free water for activities like recreational swimming, have also catalysed the surge in global water demand. Such as swimming pools at home, theme parks, and resorts use an avalanche of water.

Nevertheless, there are potential ways to curb this menace. Chiefly, prudence will prevail if supreme bodies organise campaign to spread awareness among people. Furthermore, public can also contribute towards this noble cause by conserving water and also by limiting their daily household water usage. They should refrain themselves from performing activities that will pollute natural fresh water reserves. For instance, according to Forbes magazine it is revealed that UAE where desalination plants have been used since many years to provide fresh drinking water.

Suffice to say, society must ensure coercive steps are taken to prevent this problem from deteriorating further. Although number of partial fixes exists for this issue yet a permanent solution is still out of reach.

These days the number of companies operating at multinational level has increased. To what extent are they responsible for the local communities in which they are located?

These days the number of companies operating at multinational level has increased. To what extent are they responsible for the local communities in which they are located?

It is an undeniable fact that globalization, industrialization and privatization has helped many companies to expand their businesses worldwide. It is often argued that wherever multinational companies setup their business, they are responsible towards the local area’s communities and environment. However, I partially agree to the given notion.

Apparently, multinational companies play an important part and are responsible to the local communities in various ways. First and foremost is, multinational companies not only help in the economic development of the locality and the country, but also help in the environmental development of the area as they invest huge sums of money and also build infrastructure like roads. The prime example of this is the company Adani Port in Kutch, a rural area in Gujarat, after they setup their business in Kutch the roads, infrastructure are getting better day by day. Secondly, unlike the bygone days, in the modern era they create great employment opportunities for the local people, which is a win-win situation for the company and the local people as the company get employees and workers at a favourable expense and also local people do not need to migrate to urban cities for work, which also helps to solve the problem of overpopulation in urban areas indirectly. Thirdly, many multinational companies also setup schools for the children of their employees where they provide free education and also scholarships for further educations which in turn boosts the literacy of the area.

On the other hand, besides the company’s responsibility, the local people and the government should also co-operate and be responsible towards the company. Chiefly, it is seen that sometimes the local communities do not have a welcoming attitude towards the multinational companies as they feel that these companies will have a bad effect on them. For instance, recently the local people damaged the property of a multinational company named Foxxcon as they viewed the company as a threat to their land and jobs. Furthermore, the government should also try to help and frame rules and regulations which will help the company as well as the local people to not create any bad relations between them and help them to function smoothly.

To recapitulate, multinational companies get benefited from the local communities hence they should try to give something back to them which will create a win win situation for all and also benefit the country in economic development.

Children find it difficult to concentrate on or pay attention to school. What are the reasons? How can we solve this problem? IELTS | IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Children find it difficult to concentrate on or pay attention to school. What are the reasons? How can we solve this problem?
It is an undeniable fact that good and proper education in school is of utmost importance for children from their formative years of upbringing. It is often argued that in the modern era students are finding it intricate to focus and losing their concentration while studying in school. Apparently, modernization and westernization is to be blamed for this global phenomenon. However, this can be solved with the help of parents and teacher.

Fundamentally, there are various reasons for a child to find it difficult to concentrate. First and foremost is, not only non competent teachers, but also the theoretical curriculum in the school involving no fun activity is a major factor for children to lose concentration. For example, according to a BBC report, children who go to modern schools where the studies are more practical based than theory based are able to concentrate more and also do better in studies than the students who attend the conventional schools. Secondly, unlike the bygone days, in the modern era, younglings are inclined towards computer games. They show keen interest in completing complex levels of games rather than solving mathematical questions. Hence, overindulgence affects their sleep cycle which leads to less concentration in studies. Thirdly, negligence of parents since both parents are working to meet materialistic demands they do not get time to have proper supervision on their wards.

Nevertheless, there are potential ways to improve their concentration. Chiefly, parents and teachers should try to talk with children and find out their interests, likings and if they have any problems or issues, once the parents and teachers know about these things , they can find out why they are not able to concentrate and then develop a plan that suits that particular child to improve their concentration. For instance, according to a survey by Forbes it was seen that children develop to concentrate when they do activities and studies which they like. Furthermore, parents should try to be strict with their children in some matters like to sleep on time, eat healthy and less screen time all of which will help to improve the child’s concentration. Additionally, school should try to create a balance between studies and free time,  as they also need to relax which will help them to refresh and improve their concentration.

To recapitulate, although younger ones finding difficulty to stay focused yet parents being corner stone should instill the value of your paramount significance of education for their overall growth and development.
