How Part 4B Works in ESOL A1 / LanguageCert

In Part 4B, the examiner asks you simple questions about everyday topics.
You should answer in full sentences, not only “yes” or “no”.

Usually:

  • The examiner asks 1 main question
  • Then asks 2–4 follow-up questions

The conversation is natural and friendly.


1. Family

There are five people in my family. I live with my parents, brother, and sister. We spend a lot of time together. In the evening, we usually watch TV and eat dinner together. I love my family because they always support me.
