Some people think that to be successful in sport, physical strength is the most important factor. Others, however, think that it is more important to be mentally strong. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

In the modern era, there is a considerable contribution of research on how one’s body reaps the benefits in sporting events. However, there are predominantly two contrasting views where a section of society vehemently deems that Physical factors are the key factors influencing the results in sporting events while others emphasize that the mentally strong people have big advantage in winning any sporting game.

Apparently, various factors make a section of people advocate that physical power is a factor where one is benefited considerably and have many reasons to substantiate it. Firstly, not only physical tenacity is required to maintain stamina at an unprecedented scale ,but also a strong bulk can be recovered from the injuries faster than a weak body. To corroborate, according to BBC research it is revealed that for some kind of sports rugby, American football, and art-martial having more muscles help to achieve the best scores. Secondly, unlike people who are just mentally strong, sports person with muscular built can participate in heavy weightlifting games. Hence, the physical strength is the host of ostensible factors in acquiring crowning achievement in any sport.

Nevertheless, some believe that mental vigour is the backbone of a successful team. Chiefly, if certain individuals or the team as a whole lacks mental strength, they'll struggle with certain tasks no matter how much talent they possess. To vindicate, according to Forbes magazine, it is revealed that one of the most admirable tennis players, Roger Federer, he was almost 40 years old. He won a match at the Australian Open for playing more than 3 hours. His competitor was much younger, Oviously, Roger beat him not because of better energy but better wisdom. Furthermore, is emotional control fundamental for a player? Certainly yes, at distinct stages of the game he have to utilize his brain strengths. To elaborate, Andy Roddick, a tennis player, while he was young, he had the most powerful energy than other players. Nonetheless, he had terrible emotional controls. Even he won the initial two sets, he still could mess up if the competitor made him angry. Thus, main aspects of mental strength includes confidence, challenge, commitment and control If one of these elements is missing, the core strength of a team is always going to be in danger of collapsing.

In my profound opinion, although physical durability is needed for any sporting event, mental durability is fundamental in different circumstances. Needless to state, both physical and mental strengths play paramount significant role in any sport.
