Some people think that government should take care of the old and provide financial support after they retire. Others say individuals should save during their working years to fund their own retirement. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
With the advances in modern technology, we have somehow reached at crowning levels of financial independence. However, there are predominantly two contrasting views where a section of society vehemently deems that successive governments should interfere and give the best after retirement support to old age society like pensions and other remuneration while others emphasize on the factor that people should save enough for their retirement after all the years of working in organizations.
Apparently, various factors make a section of people advocate that supreme bodies are responsible to be a backbone of the ageing men of all classes and have various reasons to substantiate it. Firstly, the government not only deducts taxes from the common society including the ones who later on gets the pension support, but also charges hefty on all the additional services that we avail. To corroborate, according to BBC research it is revealed that almost 30% taxes are deducted by the government directly from the salaries that most people earn at source. Secondly, unlike nations whose gray haired person are not sponsored by authorities, the countries’ whose authorities lend monetary support at dreaded age times of people directly impacts the happiness index resulting in lowering ratio of old age homes. Hence, the financial support and medical support are of paramount significance from the government at the retiring age and after that.
Nevertheless, some believe that individuals earning provident fund along with their life’s savings must not be dependent on government benefits for their old age support. Chiefly, if they do not burden the government, it will directly benefit the economy at an unprecedented scale where staggering amount is spent on pensions of the people. To vindicate, according to Forbes magazine it is revealed that countries with less to no old age substantially contributes the economy raised with additional 30%. Furthermore, do they tend to keep the people young and active? Certainly yes, since it gives a sense of more responsiveness towards being healthy and active and thus try to reduce one’s footprints on the expenses thereby is a key factor influencing financial independence.
In my profound opinion, although financial support can benefit patrons to huge extent after retirement yet they can themselves try to be independent in a developed country. Needless to state, prudence will prevail, if selective strata of society only reap the financial benefit from government.
