 An increasing number of professional, such as teachers and doctors are leaving their own poorer countries to work in developed countries. What are the reasons for this trend? What effect does it have on the countries professionals are leaving? 

Indubitably, brain drain is the burning issue. It has increased at an alarming rate. It is believed that there is a significant rise in the migration of working professionals from the developing countries to the industrialized nations. Apparently, better job opportunities and lifestyle are to be blamed for this global phenomenon. However, it begets harrowing upshot on countries. 

Fundamentally, predominant factors that evidently trigger that can be observed. To begin with, not only there are more job opportunities for the skilled people, but also there is a considerable difference in the salary and the work culture. To substantiate, as per the BBC report, there are nearly 80% more job opportunities available for the reputed professionals like teachers, doctors, and engineers. Furthermore, unlike developing countries where there is cutthroat competition and there is a lack in the available medical infrastructure, developed countries offer healthy and comparatively rich lifestyle. There are improved medical facilities, infrastructure, and better quality of natural resources. 

Nevertheless, it entails myriad detrimental ramifications. Chiefly, if individuals move to the developed countries, there will be a loss in the overall economy of the poorer country as the investment in education is not fully capitalized. To corroborate, as per the BBC report, around 78% of economy is affected due to the migration of skilled labours. Furthermore, does it hamper the progress of third world countries? Certainly, yes. Since, there is a shortage of skilled labour due to the ongoing trend at an unprecedented scale in their respective countries which would diminish the growth of such countries at a significant rate. 

To recapitulate, while in the short term an individual progresses from this migration, it affects the nation and society on a broader spectrum. Therefore, migration of educated working professionals around the globe would contribute to the further success of the developed country and failure of the developing country.
