 Some parents buy their children whatever they ask for, and allow their children to do whatever they want. Is this a good way to raise children? What consequences could this style of parenting have for children as they get older?

It is evident that parents often shower their children by buying whatever they ask and allowing them to pursue whatever they want. Apparently, this is not a constructive way of raising a child. However, this style of parenting can lead to an increase of irrational demands by children as they turn older.

Fundamentally, many parents now-a-days provide excessive liberty to their children which has lot of demerits. Firstly, children at a learning age should be taught the value of restraining their urges and spontaneous purchases by their parents, as doing so will help children understand the value of things they have in their possession and provide them an insight regarding their privilege. For example, according to a recent study conducted by BBC it was found that 40% children stop respecting their elders if their demands are not met, this is responsible because of high expectations set by the parents in terms of purchases and liberty provided to their offspring.

Nevertheless, style of parenting can instil a regressive attitude among children which is responsible for negative consequences. Chiefly, an impression of dependency is established in children for every purchase due to which they are unable to manage their finances in a controlled way when they reach adolescence. Furthermore, parents who devote their lives fulfilling every demand of their children often fail to save up enough capital for their own retirement which declines their quality of life altogether in the long run. More importantly, children who are raised in an independent environment tend to be tad bit careless as compared to their peers and often fail to recognise the repercussions their actions can have in life. 

To recapitulate, parents are widely suggested to provide a not only natural upbringing to their children in an environment which is liberating ,but also should not refrain from taking charge to further educate them on what they have as compared to what they want.
