Success is often measured by wealth and material possessions. Do you think wealth is the best measure of success? What makes a successful person? IELTS WRITING TASK-2

Success is often measured by wealth and material possessions. Do you think wealth is the best measure of success? What makes a successful person?

Monetary wealth is a crucial aspect in today’s time. It is often argued that success of a person is often gauged by wealth and material possessions. Apparently, the criteria of judging a persons success should not be limited to wealth. However, financial knowledge is what defines a successful individual.

Fundamentally, a person’s success can be determined from a plethora of attributes. Firstly, academic qualification, career achievement, and mental development are all forms of favourable result which not equate to funds. For example, according to BBC research it is revealed that the ability to put in efforts and the dedication to succeed makes the person a winner. Secondly , an employee who works in a lower-paid job and the salary is adequate to support the family so he/she found pleased, which is a real success.

Nevertheless,  an individual who has supreme knowledge of managing their finances is deemed successful. Chiefly, people that learn to utilize their money to open multiple gateways where they can diversify their portfolio by making investments that further grant favourable returns thus increasing their initial capital. Additionally, success is a subjective phenomenon which can equate to several outcomes. For example, a person is claimed to be successful if they secure a high paying job at an Indian MNC after graduating from a business school. Meanwhile a first generation immigrant working multiple jobs is considered a success by their family for working towards their goals despite the obstacles.
To recapitulate, not all progress translates to cash at hand. Being successful as a person is equally proportionate to the goals one has set and accomplished for themselves in their life.
