The rise in the standard of living in a country often seems to benefit cities rather than rural areas. What problems can this cause ? How might these problems be reduced?
Shortage of facilities at countryside areas is a burning issue. It is often believed that the progression of a nation has a significant effect on the development of urban areas and no major changes are seen in rural areas. Apparently, this biased action can lead to overpopulation in one area and under development of village areas. However, this problem can be eradicated with the implementation of strict norms by the local government.
Fundamentally, development of limited areas, like cities, could lead to numerous issues. First and foremost, it not only disrupts the improvement of rural regions by non-allocation of funds but also becomes the cause of migration of a huge number of people to towns. This could increase the crime rate and put unwanted pressure on the administration of that area. To corroborate, as per BBC research, an exponential rise has been revealed in rural areas where 30 percentage villagers move to metropolitan areas every year due to lack of facilities. Secondly, unlike the simplistic life of rural areas, cities lives are hectic and the cost of living is quite high which is tough for a new person to get accommodated there. Hence, staying in the cities has catastrophic effects, such as overburden and stress, on a person's mental health.
Nevertheless, there are potential ways to curb this menace. Chiefly, if authorities interfere and distribute sufficient funds for the advancement of less developed areas, it will eliminate the problem of migration to modern cities at an unprecedented scale. To vindicate, per Forbes magazine, a prolific decrease in shifting to another place has been witnessed in rural areas where basic necessities are available for inhabitants. Furthermore, could providing extra benefits to individuals of living in rural areas develop that region ultimately? Certainly yes, since the rise of population results in surge of the local economy owing to which dwellers reap the benefits of various facilities which are brought as per their demand.
Suffice to say, although there are enormous problems associated with the ignorance of development of suburbs, government can mitigate this concern by introducing various policies in the favour of villagers and encouraging more people to live there.
