Experts say if the old people spend time and get along with others and exercise everyday will be healthier and happier. However many elderly are suffering from loneliness and lack of fitness. Discuss cause and solution.
It is undeniable fact that spending quality time with aged people make them lively and healthy. It is often argued that emotional and poor health status of senior folks has increased at an alarming rate. Apparently, modernization and westernization is to be blamed for this universal phenomenon. However, it can be eradicated cleverly by provided slew of remedial measures are taken up.
Fundamentally, the predominant factors that evidently trigger it can be observed. To begin with, not only migration of youth to another cities in search of bread and butter has detrimental effects on emotional well being of their parents, but also it increases the communication gap between members of families at an unprecedented scale. For instance, in developing countries parents are not living with their offspring which makes situation more worse as their parents feel worthless and have nobody to rely on so they do not meet people even their neighbours. Therefore, they confine to their own shell. Secondly, unlike the bygone days, in contemporary era, everyone is busy in their jobs, education and especially with technological games due to change in life style old people are quite rigid they do not want to learn new technologies like social media apps and electric devices.
Nevertheless, there are certain ways to curb this menace. Chiefly, government should spend money on creating part time jobs for senior citizens which would significantly enhance their confidence and also they can contribute to economy. To corroborate, according to BBC research more than 50 % senior citizens opted a job in their retirement age like gardening, delivery driver, community services, security guards which is quintessential for them to meet new people and indulge in society. Besides, senior citizens should pay attention to their hobbies such as singing, dancing and cooking as their mental health would benefit considerably. Also, younglings should spend some quality time with their elder and make them feel comfortable so that they can easily share their emotions to them.
Suffice to say, society must ensure steps are taken to prevent this problem from deteriorating further. Although a myriad of partial fixes still exist for this issue yet paramount solution is still out of reach
