SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT UNIVERSITIES SHOULD ONLY ACCEPT STUDENTS WITH HIGH MARKS OTHERS THINK STUDENTS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITY LEVELS SHOULD BE ABLE TO ATTEND UNIVERSITIES. DISCUSS BOTH AND GIVE YOUR OWN OPINION.

Education has a substantial contribution in the holistic development of a person. However, there are predominantly two contrasting views where a section of society vehemently deems that students with upper ranks should only get admission to universities while others emphasize that tertiary level education must be available to people of all ages and capabilities.

Apparently, various factors make a section of population advocate that universities should give seats to those candidates who have scored high marks and have many reasons to substantiate it. First and foremost, it not only saves time of the management at an unprecedented scale by direct enrolment of the students in the universities but also gives students an environment to compete with others of their level. To corroborate, according to BBC research it has been revealed that universities having brilliant pupils in their classes have prolific placement rate as compared to the other institutes which have mixed rank candidates. Secondly, unlike other universities, universities having only intellectual learners provide ease to teachers to deliver their lectures without worrying about their grasping ability.

Nevertheless, some believe that equal opportunity of learning should be given to all individuals for myriad reasons. Chiefly, if a weak student is accompanied by smart students, it will give him readily support on any problem related to the studies. To vindicate, per Forbes magazine, an exponential rise in the grades of weak learners has been observed when they mutually read at a single class in the universities. Furthermore, does giving old people a chance to pursue their third level of education would prove auxiliary in building a successful professional career? Certainly yes, since some time a person is unable to acquire desired education at a young age due to family responsibilities. Therefore, higher education gives both a handsome salary and a good position in a company.

In my profound opinion, although there are numerous convincing arguments in the favour of selecting aspirants based on their ranks, offering university education to everyone help in the growth of a person as well as for the progression of a nation.
