At the present time, the population of some countries includes a relatively large number of young adults, compared with the number of older people. Do the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages?

It is an undeniable fact that young people are the future of the world. It is often argued that the population of young adults has surpassed the number of old people in some countries. However, even though this practice brings about is a mixed bag of both boon and bane, merits outshine demerits.

Apparently, having a large number of adults has constructive benefits for a country. First and foremost, not only do young people have an immense amount of energy and enthusiasm for learning new things, but also they are relatively smarter than old people. For example, according to the BBC research, it is revealed that 85% of young adults have high intelligence quotient than elderly people. Secondly, the country’s growth is highly dependent on its people and it becomes an advantage for the country to have a lot of young adults, who can significantly contribute to the growth of the economy. Thirdly, the government spends tremendous amounts of money on old people every year, by providing them pensions and other basic facilities. Seemingly, a low population of old people will save a lot of money for the government and fewer taxes will be charged from people. Therefore, the large population of young adults is an advantage for countries.

On the other hand, it has inherited downsides. Old people have immense wisdom and substantial experience in their life. Hence, they always motivate their children to work hard in their life and become an overall good person in their life. Nowadays, young people are moving away from their traditions and adopting modern things. However, old people always suggest their children to never forget their traditions and always respect others. Hence, old aged are vital people in our life.

To conclude, young adults significantly contribute to the growth of the country in contrast to old people. However, elderly people are important in everyone’s life, one can learn a plethora of lessons from their experiences and wisdom.
