 Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In the modern era, it has become vital to add subjects in the curriculum that will add more value to the student’s carrier. However, there are two contrasting views where a section of society deems that History is the most vital subject in the school, while other emphasizes that subjects related to science and technology are more imperative than history.

Apparently, various factors make a section of people advocate that history is the most crucial subject than other subjects and have many reasons to justify it. First and foremost, not only it is vital for children to know about their country’s history, but also they get to know about the struggles and vulnerabilities which their country faced in the past. Secondly, History taught children about their traditions and motivates them to respect and never forget about their culture. For example, according to the BBC research, it is revealed that 80% of the people who did not had History subject in their curriculum, have no idea about their traditions and the culture. Hence, students need to have History subjects in their curriculum.

On the other hand, some believe that science and technology subjects are more essential than history for various reasons. Chiefly, science and technology have grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade. Hence, it becomes inevitable for students to know about advancements in the field of science and technology. For instance, according to Forbes Magazine, it is revealed that technical knowledge is essential in approximately 80% of the carriers. Furthermore, Although science is considered as the hardest subject to learn, the carrier path for students is bright in the field of science. Therefore, engineering subject must be the part of studies.

In my opinion, both history and technology are essential subjects for students to excel in their carrier and knowledge. However, practical exercises should be introduced along with the engineering subjects, this will help students to gain practical experience.
