In many parts of the world people look up their family history. Some people think that researching previous generations is a good idea, but others think it is better to focus on the present and future generations. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The inquisitiveness to know about the yesteryears is on the cusp of search today. However, there are two contrasting views where a section of society deems that it is a good notion to verify the blood relations while other emphasise  that it would be good if the present and the future scopes of the person are taken under consideration.

Apparently, various factors make a section of people advocate to conduct a background check of an individual and have many reasons to substantiate it. First and foremost, not only past is an account of both splendid and vicious actions of human beings. So, narrowing down into one’s past family history presents a person with an analytical ability between vice and virtue, but also act as a curative measure for how to avoid the past follies. Secondly, unlike the past, today’s  family  is more ultra-nuclear and hence, more fragmented. Hence, the pedigree seems to be of less importance. Here comes the utmost importance of researching into family history that could fix the broken relationship.  For example, according to BBC research it is revealed that such studies can enhance the need of strengthening relationship. Thus, decoding the past lineage fills up a man with positive human attributes like sympathy, empathy and fellow feeling.

On the other hand, some believe on stressing present and future even though history can bring up some moral and ethical lessons, the quantum of its impact on the current and future generation would be too little to be utilised for myriad reasons. Chiefly, inhabitants should love to live with whatever they have and make the future more greener for their kin. What needs today is not a parameter of the past but a right approach of present that builds up future with stability and tranquility. Furthermore, the society cannot be too slow by looking into the past but it is the journey ahead filled up with optimism, daring thoughts and quest for further growth that lis up the overall development of a person and his society.

In my profound opinion, although knowing about the previous generations of the family is the way of keeping on the traditional values, and mental values For example, handmade lantern from China is an extraordinary  work of art, and the secret of making the lantern  is descended by generations up to now yet the paramount significance of living in present and future can not be ignored.
