MANY COUNTRIES TODAY ARE EXPERINCING HIGH LEVELS OF MIGRATION FROM RURAL AREAS TO CITIES. WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF THIS TREND, AND WHAT EFFECT DOES IT HAVE ON THE EXISTING CITY DWELLERS?


MANY COUNTRIES TODAY ARE EXPERIENCING HIGH LEVELS OF MIGRATION FROM RURAL AREAS TO CITIES. WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF THIS TREND, AND WHAT EFFECT DOES IT HAVE ON THE EXISTING CITY DWELLERS? 


In this contemporary era, shifting of peoples from rural area to experience city life is a burning issue and it has increased at an alarming rate. In recent trend myriad of nations are confronting this complication of people migrating from countryside to urban area. Apparently, modernization and westernization are to be blamed for this universal phenomenon. However, it begets harrowing upshot on society.


Fundamentally, the predominant factors that evidently trigger it can be observed. To begin with, in this ultra-modern epoch of science and technology there is exponential rise in plethora of job opportunities available in urban areas. The people transfer their location to urban area to find appropriate job for themselves and earn their livelihood. According to Forbes in metro cities 35% prolific increase in job opportunities due to advancement in technologies. Secondly, the gap between rural education and urban area education is widened gradually. The huge difference in methodology and quality of studies between both the educations subsequently, people shift from country side to inner city. The students want to do study in urban area for their promising development and benefit them considerably by earning whopping salary and earn their livelihood. Thirdly, in this modern era, there is prolific rise in basic infrastructure and medical facilities in urban area. The people can make feel themselves comfortable to shift the place where emergency services are readily available in case of any urgent medical aid with framework of all the amenities to live fruitful life consequently, they want to move from outskirts of city to inner-city.  

Nevertheless, it entails myriad detrimental effects. Chiefly, the shifting of people from villages to city have their own inherited downsides to the people already residing in urban area. The city population face the complication of increase in inflation rate of all the goods and services due to more demand as of the supply. The more people shift to urban place the complication of living arrangements arise. According to BBC it is revealed that 40% of increase in inflation rate in urban area in accordance to last two consecutive years. Additionally, the detrimental effect to people who are already part of urban society that it is big trouble for the people residing in inner-city from past years to earn their livelihood as more of the cheap labor and working people is now available in city seemingly, the scarcity of job also happen as innumerable people present in the area with part of salary negotiation to live their life. Besides, the quality of life also get effected with plethora of catastrophic effects on the people. The myriad of pollutions rise in urban area due to more people start residing. The complication of drainage system with water pollution, noise pollution is multifold in urban areas . It is very tough for the people to move outside on roads for their daily chores due to heavy traffic jams with bad air quality. The pollution cause plethora of medical ailments to the people already residing. To vindicate,  infected lungs, asthma problem and depletion of oxygen content in air due to air pollution.   

To recapitulate, the government should make some rules and regulation for the rural area people to migrate to urban areas. The government should also make employment opportunities and shifting of manufacturing units and other plants from center of city to outskirt of the city so more people employee there with upliftment of rural area. The beauty of urban area should be maintained to attract the tourists to the concerned destination and earn the revenue with other benefits from them
