Computers have made our world a better place to live. Do you agree or disagree? IELTS I WRITING TASK-2

Computers have made our world a better place to live. Do you agree or disagree?

SAMPLE ANSWER : It is an undeniable fact that science and technology has grown by leaps and bounds. The world has witnessed revolutionary inventions in the field of science and technology, computer being the most prominent. It is often argued that computers have improved our lives in a certain manner. However, I partially agree to the given notion.

Apparently, this technology holds a wide range of constructive benefits. To begin with, it has reduce the human efforts to a large extent by replacing the labor intensive method of production. Subsequently, resulting into higher efficiency and greater productivity. Secondly, with the advancement in computers, it is now possible for everyone to contact anyone at any point of time from anywhere through Internet. Thus, it is an inevitable invention in the history of mankind. Thirdly, there is a significant rise in the development of artificial intelligence. This colossal invention has increased industrial productivity by introducing robotics and other computer aided technology. To vindicate, as per the survey report of Chronicle of higher education, computers have considerably benefited the people all around the globe by reducing their personal and professional workload.

Nevertheless, this modern technique has many destructive outcomes for my raid of reasons. Chiefly the prime reason is the paradigm shifting work culture. As computers have replaced human this has led to decline in employment opportunities for money. Additionally, we are entirely dependent on the technology. Conspicuously, Becoming less active and highly lethargic which is causing many health and mental issues like anxiety, depression, stress etc. Besides, the new generation have their hands over this since their childhood, it has somehow reduce the intellectual thinking among young ones. To corroborates, the survey report of BBC states that excessive use of computer or laptop results in poor analytical and logical thinking level among children. Thus, It also brings down the cognitive development of children.

Having dwelled on such thought it is concluded that computers and recent updates in IT is a double edged sword. It is truly technology is a good servant but a bad master
