Modern cultures around the world have become similar when compared to the past. What are the reasons? Is it a positive or negative development?

SAMPLE ANSWER : It is irrefutable fact that globalization have exorbitant effects on the entire planet today. The world has been converted into small global village. It is often argued that in this contemporary era,  many aspects of culture are becoming extravagantly similar ubiquitously. Apparently, there are prominent reasons for this phenomenon. However,  this driving trend is a positive development.

Apparently, the predominant factors behind this cultural fusion are perceptible. To begin with, few international trade has allowed multifarious countries to exchange goods in every nook and corner of the world. People enjoy identical fashion and cuisine staying at home country which consequently paves the way for cultural homogeneity. To vindicate, With the advent of McDonald’s in Asian countries like India, Thailand etcetera, the trend of burger eating has become popular during birthday parties and other festive occasions. Secondly, world has become integrated due to prolific rise in tourism and migrants. Plethora of travelers imbibe the radiation and culture of the present country along with culture of their home country. Also, frequent travelers are apprised of different cultures around the world through Internet and cultural sites thus in turn they tend to practice same culture.

Nevertheless, I find this trend positive for multifarious reasons. Chiefly, Owing to the globalization, indigenous values and customs are augmently globally resultantly assisting people to appreciate and understand other cultures. To corroborate, establishment of umpteen  foreign companies in India has initiated celebration of festivals such as Diwali and holy along with festivals such as Thanksgiving and New Year. Besides, the emerging of cultures of the nations foster, in frangible bond among nations which is rewarding in maintaining the world peace. Also, people can enjoy their staple food and satisfy their taste buds anywhere around the world. To exemplify, Starbucks, the renowned coffee chain has grown from a single outlet in Seattle to as many as 30,000 shops in around 60 country. All stores serve identical cup of coffee to thousands of people from one part to the other corner of the world.

Having dwelled on such thought it is ostensible that technological inventions have always supported  cultural changes and different cultures are becoming identical with each other. Such applauding advancement should be continued in order to make the globe a better place for the human being.
