In some countries, schools are open till late hours so that children can be looked after when parents are at work. Do the advantages outweigh its disadvantages?

School and family are two of the greatest institutions that impart education to a man greatly. It is conspicuous in multiple nations that educational institutions are accessible to students till late so that offspring's can be under supervision while parents are at work. However, even though this practice brings about a mixed bag of both Boon and Bane, the advantages Outshines the disadvantages.

On the constructive part, society is blessed with numerous benefits because of extended working hours of schools which are worth mentioning. To begin with, since in this fast-paced life progenitors are busy in earning money to ameliorate living standards and provide topmost education to their children's, this facility by schools is a ray of sunshine for both juveniles and parents. Students can reap the bounties of this extra hours by utilizing it laboriously in plethora of ways such as completing homework, practicing sports both indoors and outdoors, enhancing communication skills enormously. Secondly, under supervision of school staff, parents feel relief and thus can focus efficaciously in their job without taking stress about their children. Parents no more have to conduct race against time to reach early for their adolescence. To vindicate, as per the survey conducted on working parents is clearly stated that 70% of parents feel that schools are the most protective place for their children’s then staying alone at home.

On the destructive part, there appears to be potential shortcomings from this trend for myriad reasons. Chiefly, this practice can have immense devastating effects as children bond with parents tend to be fragile , since they spend extravagant time at school, they admire and cherish the company of school staff as well as friends. Besides, children’s are devoid of basic moral values which can be only taught at home by parents such as being morally scrupulous and virtuous which is monumental in this era. Moreover, being under restriction all the time can hinder holistic growth of children’s. They may lack quality to stand tall and live independently. Also, being disciplined all the time can affect their autonomy.

Suffice to say, this thriving phenomenon is a double edged sword as it has both applauding effect and inherited demon sides but its desirable outcomes overshadow it’s atrocious effects due to the fact that students are secured under guidance of school authorities.
