SAMPLE ANSWER : It is irrefutable fact
that workplace is in this current juncture are becoming extravagantly
competitive. It is often argued that in such a situation, it is persons social
skills that set them apart from the crowd and allure employees along with
satisfactory qualification. However, I firmly agree to the given notion.
Apparently, there are numerous arguments that much value social
skills over qualification. To begin with, employees are often the “face of the
company”. They interact with customers and work to build new relationships with
them. Secondly, the multifarious departments of modern organization are
inextricably intertwined an ergo, to augment the productivity, it is
indispensable to have great understanding among these departments. To
vindicate, IT department has to work with the HR department and the marketing department.
So, if employees lack good communication skills and various quality than it may
lead to conflict and chaos. Furthermore, there is always added advantage to
social skills over qualification because social skills such as interpersonal or
soft skills, conflict resolution, active listening, empathy etcetera are
endowed in person since childhood. They are either innate or acquired
throughout a person's upbringing.
On the flipside, qualification can be attained at any time.
Additionally, the mushroom growth of organizations at ubiquitous level had led
to stress on employers and employees to sustain in this ever-changing economy.
The person with strong social skills attain self control and is able to survive
efficaciously under stress. Besides, superior interpersonal skills help person
both personally and professionally. For instance, by developing this art there
is possibility of advancement and promotions in career ladder.
