Online education and training is becoming increasingly popular in the business world. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?


SAMPLE ANSWER: The world has witnessed revolutionary invention in terms of science and technology with internet and computers being the predominant one. With the advent of internet E-learning and online training has gain it's momentum in all large businesses ubiquitously. However, even though this practice brings about mixed bag of both boon and bane , its advantages outshines disadvantages.

On the constructive part , society is blessed with numerous benefits because of contemporary learning methods which are worth mentioning. To begin with, it is a lucrative choice for an organization to educate workers online. this trend offer considerable monetary benefits to the employer as they do not have to bear the burden of travelling, accommodation and training fee of  trainer. To vindicate, as per the article published in business times, compasses in this ultra modern epoch are online training methods. Secondly, studying an online course provide portability and flexibility. It immensely benefit employees and they can study at their own pace. To exemplify,. Udemy  is an online learning platform aimed at professional adults and students. It has more than 30 million students and 50000 instructors teaching courses with more than 60 languages. So one has autonomy to choose language preference as well.
As it is said there is "no rose without a thorn" so there appears to be potential shortcomings from this trend. Chiefly, assimilating information online can be boring sometimes due to monotonous lecture given by the speaker. It also lacks two way interaction which is the reason to allure and engage listeners for long period of time. To corroborate, as per the recent research conducted in US it was elucidated that 70% of employees opine that classroom oriented training galvanize employees to stay focused. Furthermore, some indispensable courses grave interaction and can be delivered in classroom settings. The quintessential example of this is team management or leadership courses which are more collaborative in nature and are best taught 'in person'.

Suffice to say, online education and training is a two way sword but its benefits overshadows its drawbacks. The challenge for businesses to maintain equilibrium between the two and of companies starting to implement "blended learning" programs which aim to combine the best of both worlds.
