In many countries around the world, shopping has turned into form of entertainment rather than a way of getting what people need. Discuss the reasons for this trend. Is it a positive or negative development?
In this ultra modern epoch, purchasing trend has gained supreme marketability among innumerable individuals. Nowadays, human beings experience the shopping more for amusement rather than urgency requirements which is being accepted worldwide. Apparently, myriad factors breeds its popularity. However, it is destructive trend.
Fundamentally, the predominant factors that evidently trigger it can be observed. To begin with, the paradigm shift in this shopping trend is because of the sky-high disposable personal income. They spend lavishly on the less required items as they are encountering staggering salary in contrast with older generation. Secondly, there are plethora of financial schemes , for instance EMI, Credit card and so on available for people which is a predominant factor for easy purchasing of any item. In particular, if an individual urges to acquire any gadget from the market, he can possess the same without full payment by following above mentioned schemes. Lastly, in present times, every individual has a towering influence on maintaining sedentarylifestyle; resultantly, without any complusion and longing, they pick up the items without thinking once on various coupons and discount offers.
Nevertheless, I find this trend negative for multifarious reasons. Chiefly, spending openhanded on goods which are not necessary, would resulted into dismal consequences which are worth mentioning that is troublesome in financial position of a person. It would create an inherited downside on the family harmony as well. Recently in Delhi, one man named Mr. Dheeraj Sharma has become declared as a 'bankruptcy' with his improvident and spendthrift nature. Furthermore, as individuals are squandering money in their leisure time on unnecessary products; henceforth, they do not welcomed warmly the quality time with their near and dear ones which creates a catastrophic effect on their relations too. Additionally, by adopting impulsive purchase practise, one can become massively desirous and impatient and would be surely deviate from quality of life. Seemingly, it has a toxic effect on mental well being as well.
To recapitulate, shopping is seen first as a function and secondarily as something that serves emotional and social needs. As incomes have grown up, choices have exploded and free time has increased, shopping has become entertainment. But shopping as an refreshment has an archilles heel on our personal and social life . It is crystal clear, one should invest money and time more on productive activities for a global fraternity as well as for his overall development
