Nowadays, parents provide more freedom to their children in comparison to the past. Is this a positive or negative development? WRITING TASK-2

Nowadays, parents provide more freedom to their children in comparison to the past. Is this a positive or negative development?

There has been a paradigm shift in child-rearing practices as parents are working and fully engrossed in their own lives. The provision of freedom is more in comparison to the yesteryear. . This trend has both positive and negative sides.

Apparently, parents espouse the idea of rendering full freedom to their young ones because it is quintessential in the present fast-paced and competitive world. The youngsters become more independent in making decisions about their lifestyles and choices. This facilitates them to be more competent. For instance, a female child who wants to be a fashion model if provided enough freedom to build her name, it will encourage her to work on her goals as she is not facing any restrictions. Another valid reason parents put forward and which is right to a great extent is that it a right of children to avail the freedom which he/ she deserves because it will lead to the development of a better individual as they will learn from their mistakes and grow further.

On the destructive side, some notorious children may consider freedom as authority over their parents and they do not respect or fear their elderly. In such cases, they may get involved in wrong activities without being cognizant of what they are doing. For example, many murders, robbers have a past history of excessive freedom and lack of parental supervision which led them to attempt heinous crimes.

Suffice to say, parents are rendering more freedom in comparison to the past for effective expression of their children abilities. Barring few drawbacks such as indulgence in criminal activities. This development has many advantages which are necessary for developing an ideal citizen. Henceforth, this is a positive development.
