Many museums charge for admission while others are free. Do you
think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the
disadvantages?
SAMPLE ANSWER : Museums act as preservation and
exhibition site for the antiques and remains of ancient culture and heritage.
Many museums charge some fees to enter and access the information stored while
others allow visitors to spectator free of cost. Charging people for admission
to museums has both pros and cons, however, the advantages outshines the
disadvantages.
On the constructive
part, there are numerous merits for both management team and visitors. chiefly,
the amount charged can be used in the maintenance of building and adding extra
features to the items displayed such as adding effects of different lighting
and sounds and renovation of museum infrastructure to provide a mesmerizing
experience to the visitors. Secondly, the money collected in the form entry
fees can be used to create extra facilities for the people so that they can
have comfortable experience during their visits such as adding extra seating
arrangements , provision of literature for free and availability of light
snacks for free.
On the destructive
side, charging money may decrease the footfalls as majority of antique and
historic items are available on the digital media for free. Ergo, it will
decline the interest of people to visit a place for a money whereas they can
access loads of information for free. In addition to this, if the management
start charging from the common people, the government will totally withdraw
from supporting such sites which in turn not favorable for the museums.
Suffice to say, albeit
charging money from public won’t help the authorities to the maximum yet there
are evident advantages of paying for visits. Henceforth, Such trend should
continue as its advantages supersedes the disadvantages.
