People generally know that the environment is important. However
most individuals still do not take responsibility to protect the environment.
Why is this? What should be done to encourage people to protect environment?
SAMPLE ANSWER : Despite being aware of the environment and
the current issues concerned with it, people still do not take pragmatic
solutions for the betterment of the environment. Apparently, there are several
reasons attributed to this attitude. However, the mindset of people
towards the protection of the environment can be changed by taking some
remedial measures.
Fundamentally, people
don’t give any serious attention to this matter because they are self-absorbed
and highly immersed in their own lives, full filling their own needs and
accomplishing goals they have set for themselves. Thus, in their busy scheduled
life they have insufficient time to think about global issues. Secondly, people
are less concerned as they have not experienced the harmful effects themselves,
it is an old saying that people come to action when a threat is
approaching towards them or it is a Do or die situation. For instance,
environment effects such as global warming and green house effect has destroyed
many plant and animal species but humans are still surviving. However, when the
negative consequences will be suffered by humans then they will come in to
action.
Nevertheless, there
are potential ways to curb this menace. Chiefly, by ingraining the concept of
environment protection in the minds of Young children by continuous
conditioning in the form of academics and other environment friendly
activities. Besides this, on the individual level we should be reasonable to
our Mother Nature and perform activities to make it a better place for living
such as by planting trees , shunning pollution and changing our outlook that it
is not merely the onus of the government.
To conclude, society
must ensure steps are taken to prevent this problem from deteriorating further.
A myriad partial fixes exit for this issue, yet a permanent solution is out of
reach.
